Mission Friends

Mission Friends is an ongoing missions discipleship organization for preschool boys and girls (birth through kindergarten).   Through Mission Friends, preschoolers become aware that:

  • God wants everyone to know of His love
  • Move from a focus on self to a focus on others
  • Apply Bible thoughts to their lives as they learn to pray, give, and help others.

Additionally, their families learn of ways to give their time, talents, and money.

Food Pantry

Zions’ Food Pantry Ministry serves people in our church and the Oak Hill community who are in need of food assistance during difficult times.   Donations of food, or monetary donations from our generous church members supply our pantry. Our goal is to show the love of Jesus Christ through feeding people physically as well as spiritually. Contact our church office Tuesday – Friday from 8:00-1:00, or one of our church members, to request food and make arrangements to pick up your food.

Childrens Church

Children’s Church is for children ages 4-11. We have structured services that include worship through song and praise and a message geared towards helping children engage in learning God’s word. We strive for authentic worship while developing heartfelt relationships with Jesus.   We do quarterly outreach activities that are fun and help promote growth and bonding for our church family. For Children that attend we allow Children, when age appropriate, to attend summer camp through Camp Caraway.   Please come check us out, we would love the opportunity to help build the foundation your child needs to grow in the admonition and service to our Lord Jesus Christ.

C.A.R.E.

CARE is an acronym for “Christians Actively Reaching Everyone”. As Christians we believe the “Go Ye Therefore” of the Great Commission means each member of our church family. We believe to “Go” in the “Go Ye Therefore” means we should be Actively caring for others. We believe the “baptizing-teaching” in the Great Commission means we will be Reaching out to our church family and others in the community. We believe the “All nations” of the Great Commission means we will find a way to reach Everyone.   Once a week we have multiple CARE teams working in four areas: prayer, phone calls, cards, and visitation. Requests are sent to the CARE team from the Pastor, Congregation, emails, prayer lists, and direct contact with one of the CARE team administrators who organize the requests for the various CARE teams.   Our goal is to reach out and encourage all groups of people: The lost and unchurched of our community, church attenders, and church members.   We meet each Wednesday night at 7 PM (except the 5th one of the month).  There are four teams, one for each Wednesday of the month, and volunteers help one Wednesday per month.  We’re always looking for volunteers, so contact Gene Wilson or Nellie Yancey for more information.   “By This shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for one another.”                                                        John 13:35

Brotherhood

The brotherhood at Zion Baptist are a group of men young and old with one purpose in mind… to glorify God. We meet once a month on family night for bible study at 7:00 pm.   We also serve others in our church and community by doing yard work, cutting trees, building ramps, etc. By serving others we are ultimately serving our Lord and Savior.   “Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people” Galatians 6:10

Acteens

What is Acteens? Acteens is the mission’s education organization for ages 12 through 17 or 7th through 12th grade.   Acteens guides teenage girls to a greater understanding of God’s work in the world and how they can join Him in this work for their community and abroad.   We accomplish this through teaching them biblical principles and getting the girls involved in community missions e.g., working at the soup kitchen, Hillcrest school mission, Samaritans purse shoe boxes, etc.   We meet the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of every month.
